Delete Your Account

You can permanently delete your Student Tenants account and associated data at any time. This page explains how, what is deleted, and how to request deletion if you can no longer log in.

01

1.0Delete Your Account

In the mobile app: open your Profile tab, scroll to the bottom, and tap Delete Account. Type DELETE to confirm.

On the web: log in at studenttenants.org, open your Profile, scroll to the Danger Zone section, and choose Delete Account. Type DELETE to confirm.

Deletion takes effect immediately: you are signed out on all devices, your login is permanently disabled, and the cleanup described below begins right away. Deletion cannot be undone.

If you can no longer log in (for example, you lost access to your email), send a deletion request from any email address to [email protected] with the email address your account was registered under. We will verify the request and complete the deletion within thirty (30) days.

2.0What Is Deleted and What Is Retained

When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:

  • Your account, login credentials, profile, and preferences
  • Your saved apartments and helpful votes
  • Your notifications and push notification device tokens
  • Every lease document you uploaded, including all processed and redacted copies
  • Every evidence file attached to your reports, including all redacted copies (report evidence is withheld from display permanently)

What is retained:

  • The text of reviews and reports you submitted stays on the platform in anonymized form: the link to your identity is permanently removed and authorship shows only as Student. This keeps the housing record accurate for other students, consistent with our Community Guidelines. If you want specific reviews or reports removed entirely, email us before or after deleting your account (see Section 3).
  • If you previously opted out of the sale of your personal information, we keep a hashed entry on our suppression list so your opt-out continues to be honored.
  • Records we are legally required to keep, for as long as the law requires.

3.0Delete Specific Data Without Closing Your Account

You do not need to delete your whole account to remove individual items. You can unsave apartments and manage your preferences from within the app at any time, and you can email [email protected] to request removal of specific content or data, including preference survey answers and uploaded documents. Depending on your state, you may also have broader rights to access, correct, or delete personal information; see the Your Rights section of our Privacy Policy and the Do Not Sell or Share page.
